TIFFANY POIRIER
Tiffany Poirier—a.k.a. the Inquiry Ninja—is a national award-winning educator, author, speaker, gifted education specialist, and mom of three boys who believes that “every child has infinite gifts.”
A passionate advocate for inquiry-based learning and philosophy for children (p4c), Tiffany is the author and illustrator of the children’s critical thinking book Q is for Question: An ABC of Philosophy, and she was a TEDxVictoria presenter with her talk on “The Power to Question”. Following a decade teaching in gifted enrichment “Challenge Programs” in the Vancouver and Surrey school districts (grades 1-7) and receiving the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence, Tiffany enjoyed seven years as an elementary school vice-principal. Tiffany is now back to savouring the day-to-day joys of life as a grade 4/5 classroom teacher in the Greater Victoria School District.
Tiffany also teaches professional development and academic enrichment courses online, as the creator of the “10-Step Personal Interest Project Framework” and the “The Teaching Coats Project”. Tiffany holds a BA in Philosophy (UVic, 2004), a BEd in Elementary Education (UBC, 2006), and an MEd in Educational Leadership (UBC, 2012).
