Here are some recent learning highlights from our classroom…
Working with math manipulatives has been a great way to deepen our understanding of number concepts! Today we enjoyed some time inventorying and organizing the St. Patrick’s collection of base ten blocks, and we did some creative calculations with them along the way. We are now working through a unit on multi-digit subtraction. Students have had a blast connecting with this giant game of “Connect 4”! It’s interesting how even a simple game such as this can challenge students to develop their logical reasoning, visual-spatial awareness, and strategic thinking skills. What a delight to find a full Christmas tree in the 5B storage locker! Thanks to these students for helping assemble and style it so we will be ready to display all of our handmade ornaments when the holiday season officially begins!In Religion, we viewed the Youth Alpha Course episode on “Faith” and students were invited to reflect on what it means for them personally.
